What does Lhaso mean?

Lhaso is an auspicious word in Tamang that conveys goodness, honor, appreciation, delight, and harmony.

It is used to honor elders and young, for recognition and approval, and used in hymn and songs. Lhaso.net hopes to spread the meaning and practice of Lhaso.

The legend and legacy of Gopal Yonjan speak volumes in the music and songs of Nepal. Despite racial discrimination, and humble beginning, he composed, sang many memorable Nepali songs and popularized Tamang selo. His songs have inspired and touched generations from classical artists to hip hop generations.

He was a prolific lyrist, multifaceted composer and dynamic singer; above all he was a true Tamang and Nepali.
